In the Republic of Honduras, scientists say that ‘fish rain’ occurs when strong whirlwinds develop waterspouts that suck up fish and other marine life from the water. Sort of like a big vacuum cleaner in the sky. The whirlwinds can carry the fish long distances through the air, only to bucket them down with the rain at a different location.
