BEHIND THE SCENES WITH GLORIA

It was my absolute pleasure to meet the lovely Gloria who drove all the way from Wollongong for a photoshoot in January. Gloria was awarded Barnardos mother of the year award in 2014 for the courage, strength and support she shared during her beautiful daughter’s battle with brain cancer that sadly Cass lost in 2013. Gloria’s bravery is astonishing, and she is blessed to have a supportive family and a young grandchild with another on the way, that helps keep her positive.

This portrait is part of my “Unearthly” series, and the full story will be available in the book.

Special thank you to the amazing Jane Earle whose photography studio was used for this photoshoot. If you need a conventional portrait, her photography is amazing! www.janeearlephotography.com

Below is the finished portrait, showing Gloria as a powerful and strong woman, with solid tree roots connecting and grounding her with the earth. The floating blossoms symbolize her spirituality and connection with Cass, Gloria’s daughter. If you look closely, you can see two floating silver charms that belong to Cass’s charm bracelet.

Happy Gloria! Make up done and looking gorgeous!

Here is Gloria during the photoshoot, wearing an amazing mid-summers night dream dress. It was such a heavy dress, and the temperature that day was hot, hot, hot!

I had to photograph the head piece separately, as you can see, the height is enormous.
